September 2023 RSC Bulletin

BIRTHDAYS

We only have 1 September Birthday! 

• We have several new staff members, if you would like your birthday added to our departmental calendar, send me an email!  

TRAINING ITEMS

• Thank you for attending the last zoom training: "Did You Really Just Say That" with Mara Gottlieb.  
• The Certificate of Attendance is available HERE.  
• The PDF of the Presentation is also available. 
• This will qualify for Communication Strategies in Working with Older Adults
• The cost of this training was $35 per RSC.  
• NERSC May 2022 cost is $35 per credit, if a class was 3 credits, multiply $35 by 3.  

HOUSEKEEPING

• The Blog has been updated to include access to Pages (click the Menu button (looks like three lines) to the right of the Blog Name) 
• Included in those pages is the updated RSC List and Team List - directly linked HERE.

REQUESTS FOR FEEDBACK

Regional PM Meetings: 

• I will be attending the Property Management Handbook Training sessions on Wednesday, September 20th, October 18th, and November 15th for Regions 3, 2, and 1, respectively.  
• I am assisting with training the Property Management staff on RSC job functions, duties, and procedures that may relate or coincide with PM tasks.  
• I'm linking the draft of the RSC Chapter HERE. 
• If you have feedback you would like me to provide to the various Regions and PM teams, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email.  

IMPORTANT DATES & UPCOMING MEETINGS

• Reports are due:  Wednesday, September 27th by 12:00 noon.  
• Board Reports showing the work done in the month of September are due the same day.  

• Mandatory RSC Meeting:  Tuesday, October 3rd at Meadow View: 50 Mill Street Extension, Meadow View, Newington - you may complete mileage for the meeting from your home OR from your home site.  Please use the SITE expense report.  

• TEARS Conference, In Person, on Wednesday, October 4th.  
• Please make sure you are calendaring this to your PM and the Team Leads so everyone is aware that you are off-site.  

• Mandatory Training:  Navigating Change, a webinar:  Wednesday, October 25th at 10:00am via zoom.  
• Calendar invite and Link pending.

• Fair Housing Training:  Thursday, October 26th* at CTCPA Education Center:  716 Brook St, Rocky Hill
• Mandatory* for all new EHM employees!  
• *If you were hired since October 2022, you must attend this EHM FH Training.
• All RSCs are required to complete annual Fair Housing Training (a year is Oct 1 - Sept 30).  
• You may complete this credit via Online NERSC in November 2023 or at In-Person NERSC in May 2024 for the 23/24 Calendar Year.  
  

• Aging CT Summit on Monday, October 30th.
• Please make sure you are calendaring this to your PM and the Team Leads so everyone is aware that you are off-site.  

DRS SCHEDULE: a Heads-Up 

• I am out of the office on Thursday, September 28th.  
• I will be unavailable on Fridays, October 6th and October 20th due to the Leadership Development Series with the corporate staff.  
• I am out of the office on Thursday and Friday, October 12th and 13th.

Next month, I want to see Halloween pictures of kids and pets!  Let's see those costumes!
