RSC Bulletin: March 2022

 It's Almost Spring!

Although we have an RSC Zoom Meeting on Monday, March 28th, I wanted to make sure I give some other notes and updates before the end of the month.

  • Staffing
    • Welcome again to LaToya, our new RSC for Steven's Woods in North Haven.
    • We continues to recruit for our Hartford sites... thank you to Tomeca for covering St. Monica's for us while the search continues!
  • Assessments
    • In-Unit assessments are now preferred and encouraged.  I also encourage you to utilize common area and telephone assessments when necessary if there are concerns regarding COVID in your area, building, or if a resident expresses concerns.
    • Make sure you are making note of where the assessment is taking place and following up with either questions about the unit or a unit visit to see if there are any issues.
  • Time-Off
    • Just a reminder that you do not need to explain any time off requests to me... it is your time off and I expect that you will use it appropriately.  If you are coming in late and/or leaving early and need to use your time off, you only need to let me know that you are leaving/arriving.  I don't want you to feel like you have to justify asking to leave early!
  • Dates to Keep in Mind!
    • March 28th at TIME CHANGE 10:00am.  You may telework for this meeting.
    • March 30th by 12:00 noon:  Reports are due.
      • Board Reports should be filled out completely and include some more in-depth information regarding your services.
      • RSC Reports should include updates from previous months if the situation remains an issue.
      • RARM reports should state what the status is and why an item is pending.
March is Social Work Month ... I know not all RSCs are "Social Workers" by title but you are all social workers by trade.  The Team Leads and I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued dedication and commitment to our residents and EHM.  The last two years have been a difficult time for all of us for a variety of reasons and I hope you all know how much your hard work is appreciated.  We continue to have challenging cases with a population that continues to age (in-place, thanks to us!) with limited in-kind and informal supports.  I do not see you all nearly as much as I used to but I hope you know that I am always available and look forward to a time when I can stop by your sites more often and hold our in-person meetings again.

So, thank you, from all of us at Management Team and from the RSC Team Leads, and from me.  I say it all the time, I cannot do what I need to do, without the amazing work you all do on site.  You are an amazing team and I consider myself incredibly lucky to work with each and every one of you.  I hope you know how much I personally appreciate you and the work you do.

Stay Safe and Wash Your Hands!
