RSC Bulletin: January 2022

 It's 2022!

We have had a lot of updates for January so you get a special mid-month RSC bulletin!  I just couldn't wait until the end of January!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Dakota and Holly (via Kim Harrington)

Happy Birthday to Heather Turton (1/27)!!

Welcome to the team, Elizabeth, at our new site, The Maples, in Massachusetts!

  • COVID Protocol Updates:
    • Please see Pam's latest memo regarding Site-Wide COVID protocols here .
    • Regarding Assessments in the Unit...
      • I trust you all to make judgement calls regarding assessments and lengthy visits within a resident's unit.  The notice does not prohibit you from entering a unit.  With social distancing and mask wearing, most resident interactions in the unit may be within your comfort zone.
      • I am giving you the opportunity to conduct assessments and other lengthy visits via telephone and in a community area if you feel that is necessary.
    • COVID Case Communication
      • Please continue to provide me and the Team Leads with information regarding positive COVID cases.  This information now only needs to consist of the unit, the manner of testing (PCR, home test, doctor's office, etc.) and other information you feel is pertinent to the situation.  You do not need to provide the checklist of information we were utilizing previously.
      • You can inform your administrators of the number of positive cases that we are aware of on site in order for all staff to have an understanding of the possible positivity rate within a singular property.  You are not to provide the name and/or unit number.  Admins will provide you with the same information if they are informed of a positive case.
      • Weekly, I will inform the regionals of our total known numbers at a site.
        • If you feel it is easier for you to email me weekly versus at each positive notice, that is fine with me.  I trust you to provide me the necessary information in a way that works for you.
      • When a resident reports being COVID positive, you are to encourage them to follow their doctor's guidance and the CDC guidance.
    • Distribution of At Home COVID Tests
      • Yay for the sites that the town handled distribution for!
      • If your site provided you with the tests for residents and...
        • you have enough for all residents, then each resident can receive one.
        • you don't have enough for all residents, then you can have a program where residents can come collect a test on a first come, first served basis.
          • Like most towns, we will do one test per household, depending on the number of tests in a kit.
          • If a test kit has two tests, you provide one kit to a two resident unit... if the test kit has one test, you provide one kit to each resident.
  • Expense Reports and Mileage
    • 2022's Site Based Expense Report (local trainings, site coverage) here.
    • 2022's EHM Based Expense Report (mandatory company meetings) here
  • MSP Participants
    • Please make sure your AASC Online files include accurate information regarding MSP participation.  We are able to utilize this information for various purposes and it helps to run a simple insurance report!

Thank you for what you all continue to do, everyday!  Here's to a Happy and Healthy 2022!

Stay well, stay safe, and wash your hands!
