RSC Monthly Bulletin: November 2020

 RSC Monthly Bulletin

November 2020

Happy Belated Birthday to Josselyn Esquivel (8th) and Kim Harrington (15th)!

Transfers and File Sharing

  • We have developed a policy for how RSCs can and should be sharing information regarding residents that transfer from another EHM site with an RSC and when residents transfer units within a site with multiple RSCs.
  • Please bring any questions regarding this to the December mini-meeting

COVID-19

  • Continue to follow any protocols issued regarding programs and Red Zone Towns.
  • Reminders:
    • If you believe or are informed that you have been exposed:
      • Call me and/or Sally!
      • Contact your physician to obtain:
        • 1) a note indicating that you were exposed, will be getting tested, and must remain isolated until the results of that test.
        • 2) a COVID-19 test
    • If you test positive:
      • Call me and Sally!
      • Contact your physician and obtain a note indicating how long you must isolate for
      • Take care of yourself!
    • When you are ready to return to work:
      • Contact your physician and obtain a note indicating that you may return to work
    • all doctors notes must be sent to Sally!
  • Masks!  Everyone should be wearing a mask when not in their own office.  Everyone should be requiring residents to wear a mask in order to obtain RSC services.
  • If a Resident tests positive:
    • Send an email to myself, Charlie and Marlene (just Charlie and Marlene once I am out)
    • Email should include:
      • Site and Unit number
      • Was the resident quarantining prior to this test (were they hanging out in the community room, were they known to walk to the building)
      • Will the resident be isolating now that they are positive
      • Does the resident have homecare?  If yes, does that aide provide service to others in this building?  Have you informed the provider agency?
      • Is the Administrator aware?

Stress and EAP
  • This time of year is stressful all on its own... we are all experiencing the added stress of COVID on our personal lives and on the lives of our residents.
  • If you are feeling overwhelmed or in need of extra support, please keep in mind that EHM provides an Employee Assistance Program to all employees and their families, at no cost to the employee.
  • This program provides confidential counseling services for a variety of needs.
  • Here is the flier for more information

ADP - Another Reminder
  • Sick Time
    • You must still "call out" to DRS via phone call or text
    • After calling out, please ensure sick time is entered into ADP in a timely manner
  • Vacation Requests
    • Sally's Interim Protocol
      • Anything over 1 day of vacation time must be submitted to Tammy and Sally and DRS indicating whether or not there is a risk of extended time out.
      • 1 day or less (half days, leaving early, etc.) can just be sent to DRS and Team Leads per usual.  *unless it’s attached to a holiday or weekend (Friday, Monday)
    • Process
      • Email to Sally, Tammy and DRS
      • Submit in ADP after receiving approval from all 3 parties
      • Submit a calendar request after receiving approval in ADP
        • Charlie and Marlene would appreciate it if your calendar requests state the date you received ADP approval.
  • There will be some minor changes to this process once I'm out on maternity leave, we will discuss that on the 7th!

Looking Forward

  • November's reports are due on Wednesday the 25th but we would love to see them anytime starting on Monday the 23rd!
  • Like many of you, I will be out of the office on Friday, November 27th to enjoy some leftovers (mostly pie)!
  • We will have a mini RSC meeting on Monday, December 7th from 10:30 - 12:30 via zoom
  • December's reports will be due Monday, December 21st by 12:00 noon!

One final note, thank you all SO much for the incredibly generous gifts!  We are so incredibly grateful for your gifts and well wishes!  I would share a picture of the glider and swing put together but that looks like its going to be a project over the long Thanksgiving weekend... I'll try to share one when it's put together! Thank you again!

Stay Safe and Stay Well!
